Setup Custom Domains

In order to use Custom Domains, you must either have TempMail Plus or TempMail Ultra.

Step One: Get TXT Record

Copy your TXT Record below. You will need it for authenticating your custom domain. This record is unique to your account, and cannot be used by anyone else.

Step Two: Set on your domain records

Wherever you have a TempMail MX record setup, you can put the TXT record there to authenticate the domain!

Required DNS Records

TypeNameValue
Amx46.62.148.222
MXexample.commx.example.com
TXTexample.com

Replace "example.com" with your actual domain name. Some nameservers use "@" for the root domain name.

Example using Cloudflare:

Ensure that Proxy Status is set to "DNS Only" if you are using Cloudflare.

Optional: Setup subdomains

You can use wildcard DNS records to configure multiple subdomains simultaneously.
With providers like Cloudflare, you can set an MX record with "*" pointing to `mx.yourdomain.com`.

By configuring your TXT record with a wildcard (TXT *.example.com with the TXT Record), you can enable nearly infinite subdomains without needing to add individual records!

Example Wildcard Configuration

TypeNameValue
Amx46.62.148.222
MX*mx.example.com
TXT*

With this configuration, any subdomain ([email protected]) will work automatically!

Verify your domain

After setting up your DNS records, verify that your domain is configured correctly:

Using your domain

After your domain is configured, you can use it to create TempMail addresses!

To get started, view the API Documentation, and use your domain as the domain parameter when creating an email.

You can also use it on the Home Page for testing, or to make a quick email.
